Over the last year, the Scholarship Foundation worked with the National College Access Network, the National Student Clearinghouse and many other organizations around the country on a project to measure college access and degree completion data for the students we support.
NCAN has published the results of this “National Benchmarking” project in a report called “Closing the College Graduation Gap”. The report provides meaningful annual metrics about the postsecondary outcomes of students who receive college access and success services from NCAN members. This inaugural report found good news for NCAN members:
“Students served by NCAN-member programs outperform expectations for college enrollment and completion, demonstrating that current national lower levels of postsecondary attainment for poor and minority students are not destiny.”
The report also charges member organizations to keep moving toward closing the college enrollment and graduation gaps facing low-income, first-generation students.
