The Scholarship Foundation’s Student Advising Program actively forges partnerships with schools and community groups in order to bring its services directly to students. In a typical year, the programs assist about 5,000 area students and family members with the complex challenges of applying for college admission and financial aid and making sound financial decisions about higher education.

Student Advising staff members work in high schools and community agencies throughout the St. Louis metropolitan region. These include schools in the urban core, suburbs, and ex-urban areas with significant percentages of low-income or underrepresented students.

In addition, Student Advisors supplement college access services for students on community college campuses and conduct programs for community groups that share The Scholarship Foundation’s belief in the importance of higher education.

On a broader scale, The Scholarship Foundation is among the founding partners working together in St. Louis Graduates, an ambitious initiative to increase the percentage of St. Louis area residents with postsecondary degrees.

St. Louis Graduates (formerly the St. Louis Regional College Access Pipeline Project) takes a coordinated, comprehensive approach to the challenge, which requires properly preparing high school students to pursue higher education and supporting them as they persist in their studies and earn their degrees. The collaborators in this effort include service providers, educational institutions, corporations, and philanthropic groups. More information about the services provided by St. Louis Graduates is available through its website, www.stlouisgraduates.org.

The Scholarship Foundation is also a proud member of both the National College Access Network (NCAN) and the National Scholarship Providers Association.
