The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis is pleased to announce that Lauren Nash Ming has been elected President of the Board, succeeding Buron Buffkin, who has completed a three-year term. Lauren joined the Foundation’s board of directors in 2014. Now retired, she worked in finance and IT leadership roles in her 30+ years at Monsanto Company (now Bayer). Her community commitments include the Missouri Historical Society; The Links, Incorporated; and the National Kidney Foundation. Her prior board and community service include Crossroads College Prep, New City School, Leadership St. Louis, and United Way. Lauren’s bachelor’s in business administration and accounting is from Howard University and her master’s in information management is from Washington University.
Lauren says, “I am honored to serve as Board President and look forward to supporting and championing the Foundation’s important work in awarding interest and fee-free loans and grants, advising students and their families on college financing, and advocating for systemic change to improve college access for all students. We make educational dreams a reality and by doing so, change lives and communities.”
