Mask Mandates and Vaccine Reminder

Rob FoleyAlerts, COVID-19, News

Across Missouri, and around the country, colleges are announcing COVID-19 vaccination policies for students and faculty. In May, the Foundation issued the COVID-19 Vaccination Alert, encouraging students to research and decide about vaccination for themselves. Many colleges are requiring students be vaccinated for COVID-19 before arriving on-campus for the 2021-22 school year; The Scholarship Foundation strongly encourage students to seek vaccination in time to return to campus this fall.

Colleges campuses are now changing their mask mandates. These policies are changing quickly—and inconsistently, with some colleges dropping mask mandates only for those vaccinated and others dropping the matter entirely. Some colleges are still requiring masks indoors. It is important for students to be aware of their college’s policies and consider how these policies affect their plans.

Student Advisors are ready to assist with:

  • Locating or understanding policies on vaccination and/or masking.
  • Learning about vaccinations and/or making appointments to receive a vaccine.
  • Addressing any health and safety concerns with colleges.
  • Making any safety or contingency plans for the 2021-22 school year.

As things continue to evolve swiftly, The Scholarship Foundation’s staff is monitoring circumstances and communicating key details to students and the community. The Student Advising Team can help, not only for campus vaccination and masking requirements, but other matters as well. Students who do not have a Student Advisor and need to connect with one, please fill out an intake form and a team member will be in touch soon. Students who do have an assigned Advisor should contact them directly or schedule an appointment directly.
