Federal Student Loan Support
The U.S. Department of Education recently announced that federal student loan collections will officially resume on Monday, May 5, 2025, marking the end of the collections pause since March 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. Federal student loans default when they are more than 270 days past due. Borrowers with defaulted federal student loans may soon see collection activities. Many Scholarship Foundation students manage both federal student loans and interest-free Foundation loans, and we want to make sure you have support.
We are proud to recommend The Institute of Student Loan Advisors (TISLA), a nonprofit organization offering free, expert student loan advice. TISLA provides confidential support via email to help you understand your options for repayment, deferment, forgiveness, or navigating collections.
