The Scholarship Foundation recently hosted an orientation to recognize the sixth cohort of students and partner organizations participating in its summer 2017 Community Internship Program.  The program, which is sponsored by Equifax, is designed to provide students with real-world field experience, allowing them to enhance their skillset and broaden their knowledge in specific areas of interest, while also adding capacity to St. Louis-area community organizations.

This summer, The Scholarship Foundation is fortunate to welcome ten incredible organizations that will contribute to the success of the selected interns.  Students will have an opportunity to gain exposure in various fields such as public policy, community development, criminal justice, marketing and communications, nonprofit management, and public health.

This year’s orientation ignited the start to productive and promising relationships between the interns, the organizations, and The Scholarship Foundation.  The enthusiasm to learn and the desire to create positive change in St. Louis radiated throughout the room, sparking optimism that this will be another wonderful collaboration for all parties involved!

The Scholarship Foundation staff appreciate the interns for dedicating their time, knowledge and commitment to education and the community.  These internships will be growth opportunities! Additionally, the Foundation thanks the following organizations for celebrating student success and offering opportunities for young professionals to succeed: Central Print, Forward through Ferguson, Prosperity Connection, Ready by 21, Small Business Empowerment Center, St. Louis MetroMarket, Tower Grove Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation, Urban Strategies, and Vernare Learning.
