Emergency Loan Screening Questionnaire
The Scholarship Foundation’s Emergency Loan Screening is for students who have not previously been funded through any of the Foundation’s interest-free loan and grant programs. An emergency is an unforeseen situation or circumstance that has resulted in the student’s inability to pay for the current semester’s costs; this means that the student had a plan to cover their expenses, but the emergency changed the plan. Some examples of an emergency include the unexpected death of a parent or spouse, a job loss or layoff, or a sudden change in financial aid. Students must meet all eligibility requirements of The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis and demonstrate emergency circumstances to qualify for an emergency loan. The emergency loan may be not used to pay for a balance from a prior term or semester.
There is a two-part process to be considered for an emergency loan. Once screened, eligible students will be invited to submit an emergency loan application. It is the responsibility of the applicant to complete the application as soon as possible for funding consideration; students are highly advised to use the support of the Student Advisor who screens them for assistance in completing the application.
