Félipe Martínez (they/them) serves as Senior Student Advisor at The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis where they work to support first-generation and undocumented students’ access to postsecondary education. In addition to working with individual students, Félipe provides significant training and resource support to St. Louis-area guidance counselors and nonprofit program personnel new to the issues facing first-generation and undocumented students. They have served as a guest speaker, panelist, and presenter at a number of local and national conferences and convenings on topics of importance to undocumented students and their families, as well as to first-generation college students. Originally from California, Félipe worked six years coordinating a GEAR UP grant in the San Diego Unified School District and has served as a student mentor and advisor to countless first-generation and undocumented students. They have been a student-centered student advisor for 13 years and are a graduate of Cuyamaca Community College and the University of California-San Diego.
